Christians celebrate many special days during the year. None is more significant than Passover. It is the first of seven appointed times in God's prophetic calendar for mankind. God called them His feasts. And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, ... These are the feasts of the Lord, holy convocations which you shall proclaim at their appointed times. In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at evening, is the Lord's Passover. Leviticus 23:1,4-5.

The date, right down to the specific month, day of the month, and hour was given by God Almighty. He also instructed His people what to do to meet with Him during each celebration. On His terms and His invitation, we are invited to participate in them and receive the blessing of each and every one--Jesus, the Son of the Living God!

As Christians, we know that the service of these appointed days is not the way to God our Father. These are times when God calls us to focus on His wondrous revelation of Jesus Christ! For 3500 years, these feast days have celebrated the glory of Jesus! We have the opportunity to marvel at the immaculate planning, down to the finest detail, as the redemptive work of Jesus is revealed!

The ancient Passover celebration transcends time to bring a powerful message for Christians today. Just as God dramatically freed His people from bondage in Egypt through the blood of the Passover Lamb, so He continues to deliver us from our bondage to sin through the blood of Jesus, our Passover Lamb. When He showed the Israelites how to apply the blood of the unblemished, innocent lamb to their doorposts so that death would "pass over" their firstborn children, God freed His chosen children for all time by sacrificing Jesus, His firstborn Son in our place. 1500 years later, when the Firstborn Incarnate shared in the celebration of Passover with His disciples, He declared Himself to all mankind as the Passover Lamb!

"...In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at evening, is the Lord's Passover." We can easily convert the date to our Georgian calendar, because the Hebrew calendar is used in Israel. We are currently in the Hebrew year 5770. Simply find the first month, Nissan, also called Abib, the 14th day, and find the equivalent day on the Gregorian calendar. This year, at sunset April 19, we celebrate 3500 years of our Holy Father revealing Himself through the sacrifice of His Firstborn, Jesus! The apostle John understood when he wrote in Revelation 5:12, "Saying with a loud voice, "Worth is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!'" And again in Revelation 13:8, "And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world."

We celebrate our perfect Father, whose abounding, endless love will encompass us throughout eternity! All praise to our Father In heaven! Glory to the Only Begotten Son of the Living God!

"Taste and see that the Lord is good... " Psalm 34:8. Come to the Feast of the Lord!

We read about sacrifice in the Bible, we know that life is in the blood. We understand "the wages of sin is death..." But, we just take for granted that Jesus died in our place. We can't really approach the idea of Jesus' sacrifice without actually seeing an innocent death. That's why this video of a priest in Jerusalem slaughtering the Passover lamb is so powerful. I deserve to die because of my sin. But the innocent lamb is taking my place. Click PASSOVER SACRIFICE to watch this short video.

...John the Baptist saw Jesus coming toward him and said,
'Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!' John 1:29
